DESCRIPTION:
Northeast of point E on Basin Lake Map. Interpretive signs help explore stately, old-growth red fir stand. Great for kids and parents. Mills Peak Lookout operates summer seasons; visitors welcome during the day. At 7320' offers commanding view of Mohawk Valley.

DIRECTIONS:
To Red Fir Nature Trail and Mills Peak Lookout
Topographic Map: Clio. 8.5 miles north (E), turn right (east) on road #S721 and turn left (north) on road #822. Trailhead: right side, 2 miles in from Gold Lake Road. Mills Peak Lookout 3 miles.
ACTIVITIES:
Hiking: Dayhikes (Rating: Good)
Difficulty: Easy Time: ½ hour
Nice stroll and nice place to take kids, just to short to be thought of as a "hike."
