The trail is linked to the other segements travelling south to north. It can be travelled in either directions. However, for dayhiking the easiest access is from Jackson Meadows Reservoir.

The trail rolls up and down with no major hills to climb over. The vistas are beautiful, especially of English Mountain. There are very few people who use this segment for dayhikes, yet it is one of the prettiest in this area on the PCT. Fall colors are marvelous - usually in early to mid-October. There is no water source along the trail from Jackson Meadows to White Rock Lake.
