Boca Townsite and Historical Interpretive Trail

DESCRIPTION:

ADA rated -- paved, but it includes difficult grades for wheelchairs.

Boca was known for making ice and beer. The two industries complimented each other well. Boca existed not just to make beer and ice for its beer, but it was also a major provider of ice to the Central Pacific Railroad. Before refrigeration cars, railroads were big users of ice. Today there is little left of Boca except for several concrete foundations and traces of the ponds used to make and harvest the ice. And the cemetery. Trailhead has handicapped parking and restrooms. Interpretive signs are located along the route.
