Downey and Sanford Lakes are nice ways to spend the day and avoid most of the crowds. Yet you're only about a mile from the Trailhead or the Grouse Ridge Campground.

Access via steep, non-maintained trails scrambling down from the Grouse Ridge Trail below (north) of the Grouse Ridge Campground. In 2002 there was a sign post with handwritten name marking the take-off to both Downey and Sanford Lakes. See Grouse Ridge Map.
