The trail to Penner Lakes climbs by the upper lakes of this chain of five lakes. They are shallow and freeze out most winters, but trout slip out of upstream lakes into them. They make a better cross-country scramble to see Mother Nature in action than they do fishing lakes.
Largest lake is eight acres, others are two acres or less.
